Provenance: Presented by King Michel I of Romania to the adventurer Rachel DORANGE (1889-1982) at the end of her Paris-Bucharest equestrian raid on October 9, 1928. Comment: Rachel DORANGE, who started out as a model for the Patou fashion house, achieved a certain notoriety between the wars, with the magazine l'Illustration reporting on her horseback raids across Europe.
