BERNARDAUD in Limoges. Part of a Chantilly porcelain service - Lot 150
BERNARDAUD in Limoges. Part of a Chantilly porcelain service decorated with birds of paradise and flowers from India, the rim scalloped, comprising: twenty-three plates, twelve soup plates, sixteen dessert plates, a deep dish, a platter, an oval dish, a cake dish, a salad bowl, a tureen, a sauceboat, two ravioli dishes, a teapot, a covered sugar bowl, a milk jug, six cups and twelve saucers (hairline on the deep dish and one cup, the teapot lid probably attached). The decoration of our service served as a model for the famous "A la reine Élisabeth II" service, commissioned in 1957 by President René Coty on the occasion of his first state visit to France.
